We were delighted to welcome Andrew Jones, MP for Harrogate and Knaresborough, for a visit to Continued Care’s office.
Mr Jones got in touch to congratulate us after we won the Best Employer title at the Harrogate Advertiser Business Awards, and we took the opportunity to invite him to find out more about our business.
With his busy diary over recent months, it took some time to get the date arranged, but true to his word he joined us for an hour on a Friday morning in July.
He met our staff and looked around our offices, and we were able to explain to him about the way our family-run business works. It was great for our team members to be able to meet their MP and see him taking such an interest in them and what they do.
Mr Jones was particularly interested in the use of electric bikes by our team when out and about visiting our clients. We were also fascinated to hear about his work and the community clinic he holds to hear the concerns of constituents.
There are many challenges facing our industry and we were keen to ensure he understood them, enabling him to use his position to support us and our clients, many of whom live in his constituency.
Afterwards, he got in touch to say:
“It was a real privilege to meet the Continued Care team. They support people in their homes offering a range of services from cleaning to shopping to 24-hour support and help with personal care.
“They have a great work ethos and it was easy to see why they are so successful. Being a family-run business they really emphasise staff training and support. They put the values and skills of their team at the forefront of the business.
“With this kind of attitude it is no wonder that Continued Care won the Ackrill Business Award for being Harrogate’s Best Employer. It was a privilege to meet the team and hear about what they do.”
