Two of our fantastic carers were honoured to have their picture featured on the side of a ‘Harrogate Heroes’ bus specially designed to pay tribute to the town’s key workers during the coronavirus crisis.
Audrey and Laura are among the many faces included on the outside of the bus as part of an initiative by The Harrogate Bus Company and the Harrogate Advertiser.
The bus carries the message ‘Thanks to our heroes who keep Harrogate on the move’ and includes pictures of people with a range of jobs, including health and social care workers, waste collectors, street cleaners and bus drivers.
Audrey and Laura and the Continued Care team were also delighted when The Harrogate Bus Company paid a visit to our Harrogate office – and brought the Harrogate Heroes bus along to show us.
It was great to meet Andy and introduce him to Laura and Audrey, who are extremely proud to be featured on the bus. It’s a moment they and their families won’t forget, especially Laura’s mum who also works for Continued Care.
Continued Care’s director Samantha Harrison said: “This is a wonderful initiative by The Harrogate Bus Company and the Harrogate Advertiser, and is a fantastic token of their appreciation and kindness for what others are doing. We are proud to see our fantastic carers Audrey and Laura here, and are so pleased that their dedication, care and compassion is being recognised and appreciated in this way.”
She added: “Every one of our amazing team are local heroes putting others’ needs first, and we wouldn’t get by without them.”
Audrey and Laura are part of our fantastic team of carers looking after people in their own homes in the Harrogate and Knaresborough district. Continued Care offers a range of home care services, from 15-minute pop-in visits right through to 24-hour live-in support for older adults, people living with dementia, younger disabled adults and adults with a learning disability.
