Lovely feedback from our staff and client surveys

As a business that’s centred on providing the very best standards of home care, we recognise how important it is to continually assess all elements of the service we deliver for our clients, as well as the working environment we provide for our staff.

So, each year, we send out a survey to everyone who uses our services and who works for us. We ask them to rate us both as a home care provider and as an employer, and we give them the opportunity to tell us in their own words how we’re doing.

While our staff and client surveys show us all the things we are doing right, they also help us to identify areas that we can work on and improve. We know we can never rest on our laurels and that our service must constantly adapt to changing needs and challenges. Even though we try our best at all times, we recognise that there is always room for improvement.

That’s why it’s vital for us not just to carry out the surveys, but to act on the results. We’ve already started working with individual staff members, clients and clients’ families to address concerns and to iron out issues.

Our latest survey took place towards the end of 2020, and it was lovely to receive overwhelmingly positive feedback, especially following an incredibly difficult period navigating the challenges caused by Covid-19.

So, with huge thanks to all those who took time to respond to the survey and to all our staff for their hard work and dedication, here’s a summary of the lovely feedback we’ve received. As always, please do get in touch with us if you have any comments about any element of our service or business.

Ripon and Harrogate staff feedback

  • On a scale of 1-10 how much do you enjoy your role? 93.8% answered 7-10
  • 90.6% said they would refer someone to work at Continued Care
  • What do you like most about our care service?: The following words came up time and again:

Harrogate service users’ feedback

  • Do you feel cared for by the carers? 95.7% strongly agreed or agreed.
  • Do you feel the carers are responsive to your needs and wishes? All respondents strongly agreed or agreed.
  • Do the carers act on your best interests, preferences, needs and concerns? 97.9% strongly agreed or agreed.
  • Are your carers open and friendly towards you? All respondents strongly agreed or agreed.
  • Are we meeting your expectations of a person-centred care service? 95.7% strongly agreed or agreed.
  • Are your carers effective in managing your care needs? All respondents strongly agreed or agreed.
  • Do you feel that the carers treat you with kindness and respect? All respondents strongly agreed or agreed.
  • Do the carers carry out personal care for you in a dignified manner? All respondents strongly agreed or agreed.
  • Comments from our Harrogate service users and their families used many of the same words, including:
    • Kind, friendly carers
    • Professional
    • Nothing is too much trouble
    • Excellent organisation and communication
    • Continuity of carers

  • Do you feel that the carers treat you with kindness and respect? All respondents strongly agreed or agreed.
  • Do the carers carry out personal care for you in a dignified manner? 92.3% strongly agreed or agreed.
  • Do the carers take time to listen to you especially if anything is bothering you? 92.9% strongly agreed or agreed.
