What our employees say
I joined the company 2 years ago. I started my NVQ 3 qualification in 2023 and completed it the following year. In 2024 I was promoted to assistant principal carer, which helped me to understand my role more. I was helping to complete the supervision, spot checks and medication competency. I still progress to learning the review officer role while doing my NVQ. I am glad that I am progressing with my career, and will continue to. I'm proud to be a part of the team at Continued Care.
Ela, January 2025
It's my privilege to be part of Continued Care. Our company values resonate deeply with employees and that makes me feel proud to work with Continued Care.
Chitra, January 2025
I’ve worked for Continued Care for 2 years. I like my job and the staff, my colleagues, are a great team, they made me feel welcome and have made me feel comfortable in my role as a carer. I feel I'm a valued member of Continued Care and have become a better carer.
Elisha, January 2025
I joined the company in 2015 following a career in hospitality and catering. Having two young children I could no longer work unsocial long hours. I enjoyed working with people and hoped to be a nurse one day. I started off as a walker doing double ups. After I passed my driving test, I enjoyed companionship calls, often taking clients out to appointments or day trips to the seaside. I have completed my NVQ level 2 and 3. I became assistant principal carer, and this gave me scope to gain my knowledge and experience doing on call once a week. I was nominated for home carer of the year in 2019. I have recently been promoted to principal carer and started NVQ level 5. This enables me to complete care assessments. Continued Care is a great company to work for. You meet so many great people and I enjoy giving something back. I get job satisfaction and feel we are valued and appreciated. Management support you along the way. I feel like I've found my vocation!
Kristina, April 2024
I have been caring for vulnerable people for 24 years and since joining Continued Care almost 8 years ago have challenged myself by achieving assistant principal and caring for people with more complex needs. I already had my NVQ level 3 and have since started my Diploma in Health and Social Care Level 4 and without the support and assistance of the company I would not have done this. Continued Care have also given their support to me achieving the role of review officer and I am looking forward to the new challenges this role will bring.
Anne, April 2024
The company has enrolled me onto my NVQ Level 5 which I hope to use to progress into the role of registered manager.
Matt, February 2024
The company is very good for career progression, and it’s one of the reasons I chose them when I was looking to go back into care. I’ve found them to be very supportive, they are flexible with my hours and I’m flexible back with them. They are very keen on CPD for all their staff and are always sending out information about opportunities.
Nichola, January 2022
I’ve always been well treated by the company. I’ve always been supported and encouraged to progress. They put me through my Level 2 NVQ and I have since gone on to do my 3 and 4 diploma too. The opportunities are always there if you want them.
Sarah, January 2022
The management team are very good, they treat you fairly and you get back what you put in. I’m going for NVQs with the company and have just started my Level 2. My aim is to work my way up with the aim of reaching Level 5 management. It’s down to the individual; the opportunity is there if you want to take it and I think it’s not to be missed.

Home carer / Community carer – job description

Working as a home carer within the community is a rewarding and varied role. You will care for people within their own homes, offering them freedom of choice and dignity, and enabling them to live as independently as possible.

Our carers carry out regular visits to assist clients with their needs and to offer a friendly smile and a chat. Tasks can include help with personal care and dressing, meal preparation, food shopping and administration of medication.

Our carers tell us they love the rapport they build with their clients as well as the variety of not knowing what each day will bring.
