We announce our Carer of the Year 2024 and welcome new staff in our latest round-up of the past few months at Continued Care.
Carer of the Year 2024
We are thrilled to announce that Requeline O’Connor has been voted Carer of the Year 2024!
This award is a true reflection of how much Requeline is valued – not just by management and her colleagues, but also by the people we support and their families. After a vote across staff and service users, Requeline received the highest number of nominations, and it’s easy to see why.
Requeline consistently delivers outstanding care, especially for clients living with dementia and those with complex needs. Whether it’s accompanying someone to the cinema, supporting trips to Manchester, or helping a client enjoy a much-needed holiday, Requeline goes above and beyond to make sure each person feels safe, supported and respected.
She has also been a huge asset to the care co-ordination team, regularly stepping in to cover shifts at short notice, helping during periods of sickness, and working across multiple services without hesitation. Her flexibility, reliability and willingness to help wherever needed shows true dedication to the role and the people we care for.
Requeline brings compassion, patience and professionalism to every shift, and this award is incredibly well deserved. Thank you, Requeline, for everything you do – your hard work doesn’t go unnoticed!

Carers of the Month
Our recent Carers of the Month are:
March – Amanda, for her outstanding dedication, teamwork and compassion. She is calm and caring, well known for supporting her team, willing to go the extra mile, and always has a positive, can-do attitude.
April – Allgar, nominated by one of the people who uses our service for being fantastic in consistently going above and beyond in her care, demonstrating genuine compassion and dedication.
May – Sue C and Matt B for their outstanding support in taking one of our service users on a week-long holiday to Portsmouth, which was a wonderful experience for him and showed their commitment to delivering person-centred support.
June – Anne I, nominated by our co-ordinators for her exceptional dedication, professionalism and high-quality work. She is always willing to help, has a positive attitude and genuinely cares for the people she supports.
July – Sophie P for her kind, caring and flexible approach, which has made a real difference to the people she supports. She is thoughtful and adaptable, and has the listening skills and due diligence to ensure that everyone feels heard and valued.

Bingo Afternoons
Why not join us for our new Bingo afternoons!
The first session was on July 29th and we will be running them from 2pm to 4pm every other Tuesday at the Continued Care office in Harrogate.
Free tea, coffee and cake is provided, along with small prizes for the winners.
This fortnightly event is free and open to everyone, whether you use our services or not – perfect to come along with a family member or friend! Space is limited to 15 places, so please call the office on 01423 871 003 or email info@continued-care.co.uk to book your spot.
