Welcoming our new registered manager Amanda

Amanda has a wealth of experience in the social care sector that began while she was still at school.

We’d like to say a warm welcome to Amanda Ramsay, who joins our Continued Care team as a registered manager.

Amanda-RamsayAmanda has a wealth of experience in the social care sector that began while she was still at school. Since a young age, she has had an active interest in caring for and supporting others and we are delighted to have such a dedicated new member of our team.

Amanda has always had an interest in care and supporting others. This started at young age when she would volunteer for the children’s charity Barnardo’s and with youth groups supporting children in various activities. Seeing people live fulfilling lives and achieving their goals has always been something very close to her heart.

While at secondary school she started to work on a weekend in a nursing home and this progressed to a full-time job. After a year Amanda chose to join a care provider for adults with learning disabilities and mental health needs which was originally a residential house that then changed to supported living. As the company grew, her roles also changed and she moved from support worker through to a variety of senior roles. She joined the management team as a senior service coordinator in 2012 and really enjoyed the management aspects of her role especially working with the staff team and helping them to progress in their job roles.

In 2013 Amanda became deputy manager, and this was followed by a manager role in 2018. She continued as registered manager until 2022 when, after many years with the same company, she decided it was time for a new challenge. After looking at a lot of companies in the area, Amanda found the job as register manager with us here at Continued Care.

Out of work Amanda spends most of her time with her partner Keith and four-year-old son Sol who keeps her very busy. She loves music and cooking, particularly with Keith and Sol, and they all spend a lot of their free time in the kitchen cooking for friends and family.

Amanda has already settled in with us really well and has managed to meet many of our carers and the people who use our service.

She says: “I am really excited to join such a high quality care company and have enjoyed my first few weeks.”
